Today is symbolic of two special events. I remember growing up in the 70’s and the significance of observing and honoring Dr. Martin Luther King - the symbolism of the day, the movement and the reflection. And to think we’ve had three inaugurations fall on MLK day. I’m glad my mom isn’t around to bring this up; we’d definitely have to choose sides and declare allegiance to either MLK Day or the Presidential inauguration. … can’t be a fence sitter in this house.
The world has gone through a lot of societal shifts and it seems like the collateral damage is a high level of desensitization - on all fronts.
My point of all of this is you can definitely allow your mind to embrace the anxiety and excruciating social norms of the world. OR, you can decide to embrace the philosophy that I use everyday. I call it my “Simply Hygge” philosophy. It’s a simple concept; adopted from the Danish word “Hygge” which roughly translates into cozy living.
Living Hygge is a lifestyle and a mindset. Decide to wake up and arm yourself with the spiritual vision of finding an abundant moment as you navigate throughout your day. Make your home and your mind sanctuaries from the world.
Practice shielding your energy and shift your frequency. It’s not hard; just find something simple or minuscule to define as abundance. I wake up, see my dog and think “wow! I get to pet and kiss Simba today” or, “yay, my counter top is clutter free and my apartment looks so fresh fresh and so clean”.
Shutdown the negativity and find your stride. One of my favorite quotes is by Buddha, “What you think, you become”.
